Fortress, directed by Stuart Gordon (who also brought us Re-Animator and The Pit & the Pendulum) is set in the future at a time when couples are only allowed one child, and abortion is illegal. It takes place at a maximum security prison in the midst of a wasteland, where John Brennick (Christopher Lambert) ends up sharing a cell with D-Day and several others.

Combs is just wonderful at playing unusual characters. He must really lose himself in his work, because each character is a completely different person--the mark of an excellent actor! D-Day is one of my absolute favorites--such a contrast between him and Herbert West!
